Dear Pursuing Faith Family,

We recently had the opportunity to partner with God Behind Bars, Bob Goff, and Willie from Duck Dynasty to do an outreach at San Quentin Prison.

San Quentin is the oldest correctional facility in the United States, and houses some of the most high-profile inmates in the nation.

We began the day with a massive BBQ (the largest in the prison’s history), and then spent time in prayer, heard stories, engaged in meaningful conversations and then worshipped together and read Scripture.

Over the course of the day, we witnessed first-hand the redemptive power of the gospel to rescue people from the chains of shame, addiction and hopelessness. The impact was staggering: 3,200 inmates were fed, 100 gave their lives to Jesus, and 80 were baptized!

This was one of the most powerful days of ministry I’ve ever witnessed, and I’m so encouraged to see God at work in the most unlikely places.

A few days ago, we received a message from an inmate: “I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me water. I was in prison and you came to see me. The fact that you would come spend time with a bunch of felons that you don’t know from Adam is the real blessing. I will never forget that day.”

I can’t thank you enough for your prayers - for the inmates (especially those who gave their life to the Lord), for upcoming speaking events and for more open doors as we continue to expand our ministry!

Love,

Dominic Done
